Silicone Compression Molding Process

Two Types of Raw Silicone Materials
We use two types of raw silicone materials in this process, precipitated silicone rubber and fumed silicone rubber.
Precipitated silicone rubber is a type of silicone rubber that is made by precipitating a silicone polymer from a solution. And Precipitated silicone rubber can pass FDA(American Food and Drug Administration) which is a public standard widely used in USA.
Fumed silicone rubber is a type of silicone rubber that is made by fuming silica with hydrogen chloride. And Fumed silicone rubber can pass LFGB(Food and Commodity Ordinance of Germany) which is a public standard widely used in Europe.
All precipitated silicone rubber and fumed silicone rubber are food grade, and we can offer SGS test report to prove it. We choose the the right materials according to your requirements and standard.
Silicone Compression Molding Machine
The machine used for compression molding of silicone rubber is similar to that used for molding thermoplastics. In both cases, there must be mold plates, a mold cavity, alignment bushings and pins, and a place to inject the uncured material.
However, compression molding is more cost effective than injection molding, which is typically used with thermoplastics or TPEs. Compression molding is more economical to use with elastomers such as NBR, SBR, EPDM, etc.
